Cissbury Barns is located in Sussex, in the heart of the South Downs. Built around 1813 as shelter for shepherds during the spring lambing season, the barns are a rustic haven that effortlessly blends old-world charm with modern elegance. Nestled amidst the rolling South Downs, it's the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable wedding day. The barn's original wooden beams, stunning countryside views, and beautiful gardens set the stage for Rebecca and Lloyd's celebration.

The Film

As a keen musician, Lloyd had decided to write a special song for his new bride instead of writing a speech. He performed the song to raucous applause and laughter, and I instantly knew that this was the perfect way to open the film. We were lucky to get a beautiful golden hour, which we made the most of by taking the happy couple out for a portrait session. The lovely portrait shots made for the perfect visual accompaniment to the hand-written song, and together they make a great opening.

Rebecca & Lloyd were married in the barns themselves, and had written each other personalised vows. As a film maker this is great - the personal touch of hand written vows always adds an extra layer of emotion and authenticity to the day - and to the film. The reception happened outside on the gorgeous veranda/courtyard area of Cissbury Barns. The glorious sunshine continued, making the footage i collected really pop, and allowing for playful uses of light and reflections in the clips.

After a lovely, heartfelt first dance, this Cissbury Barns wedding continued long into the night, with Rebecca, Lloyd and all their guests throwing their best shapes on the dance floor. A big thanks to Emma May Photography for being so fun to work and collaborate with on the day.
