A Scotland Wedding
‘MIKE!!! It’s absolutely incredible- thank you so much we’ve both cried within 15 mins of it starting.
It’s so so good. You are amazing!‘
- Hannah & Harry
Elie
Elie, a charming village on the Fife coast of Scotland, offers a picturesque backdrop for a wedding. Nestled between rolling hills and pristine beaches, it’s the perfect location for a celebration. Harry, the groom has a personal connection to the town, making it all the more special. As can hopefully be seen in the video (especially the drone shots), the varied landscapes and quaint architecture made for a really special day.
Morning Prep
Both Hannah and Harry got ready at Elie House, a 17th Century manor just outside the town. Although Scotland is famous for its terrible weather, the morning was dry and clear - especially surprising as the wedding took place at the end of September! I was able to capture plenty of the morning preparations, including an emotional father of the bride reveal. I used the audio from the FOB speech to open the film - the words seemed so heartfelt and genuine (earning a standing ovation on the day) that it seemed only right to include them at the beginning.
The ceremony
A short drive back towards the town lies the parish Church - a perfectly symmetrical building dating from the 17th century. Here Hannah & Harry exchanged their vows with their loved ones looking on.
Reception
Back at Elie House, the celebrations continued with confetti and drinks. An exceptional round of speeches from the groom, best man and father of the bride led into the suprise of singing waiters! The carnage that followed made for amazing and hilarious footage - the guests loved every minute and it made for some great scenes for me to capture.
